Celebrating 30 Years of the Sarah Kelly Memorial Bursary: Honoring Excellence and Community Spirit

Jayden Mischuk

As we reflect on three decades of the Sarah Kelly Memorial Bursary, we are reminded of the lasting impact that one individual can have on a community. Established in 1994, the bursary was created in memory of Sarah Kelly, a bright and beloved young woman whose parents were dedicated employees at our papermill and sawmill. Sarah’s legacy lives on through this bursary, which continues to inspire and support the next generation of leaders.

The Sarah Kelly Memorial Bursary was designed to honor a graduating student who not only excels academically but also embodies the spirit of community engagement—a value that was so important to Sarah and her family. As we mark 30 years since its inception, the bursary remains a testament to the values of dedication, leadership, and service. Targeted at students pursuing post-secondary education in forestry, trades, sciences, or business. This focus reflects our commitment to supporting the fields that drive our industry and our community forward.

This year, we are thrilled to announce that Jayden Mischuk has been selected as the recipient of the Sarah Kelly Award. CKP applauds Jayden’s efforts and is proud to celebrate her success as this year’s Sarah Kelly Award recipient.

At Canadian Kraft Paper, we are honored to play a role in supporting the educational journeys of students like Jayden. The Sarah Kelly Memorial Bursary is more than just financial assistance; it is a symbol of our collective belief in the power of education and community. We believe that by investing in young leaders, we are not only preserving Sarah’s memory but also fostering a brighter future for all.

As Jayden prepares to embark on the next chapter of her life, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her continued success. We have no doubt that she will continue to make a positive impact, just as Sarah Kelly did all those years ago.

Here’s to 30 years of the Sarah Kelly Memorial Bursary—30 years of honoring excellence, nurturing potential, and strengthening our community. We look forward to many more years of celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students, and we remain committed to supporting their dreams and aspirations.
