Reporting to the General Manager, Canadian Kraft Paper Industries, the Steam and Recovery Manager is accountable for the overall implementation of all policies, procedures, maintenance and engineering requirements in the Steam & Recovery Department. The incumbent must monitor and evaluate all facets of safety, environmental and production performances in the operation of the 1st Class steam and recovery boiler plant having 26,880 HP, including the lime and liquor recausticizing area, water treatment plant, electrical generation and distribution. As well as support the continuous improvement initiatives for our operation.
The ideal candidate should possess a 1St Class Power Engineer Certificate; however, consideration will be given to 2 Class Power Engineers, Professional Engineers or those with a combination of experience and education who are willing to work toward a 1st Class certification.
Experience in the Steam & Recovery operation of a pulp and paper mill or a similar 1st class power plant is an asset
The successful applicant is required to be a self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, time management skills and must possess the ability to work with interruptions while continually reassessing and changing priorities.
The incumbent must have strong leadership skills; previous supervisory experience is an asset.
The incumbent must be able to operate in a team environment as well as manage relationships with contractors, government agencies, insurance agencies and other outside resources.
