Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Technical Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for providing process optimization and support services for the mill operation. The Process Engineer will actively participate in the corporate and departmental strategic planning by providing information regarding energy efficiency and forecasting, and data analysis. Troubleshooting and implementing process improvement initiatives will fall within the duties of the Process Engineer. Working as a member of the Technical team, the Process Engineer will provide relief supervision for the Lab Supervisor and on-call support for Environmental issues on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

  • The incumbent must have a degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the pulp and paper industry will be considered an asset
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft office and computer based data analysis tools is required
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong documentation and communication skills will be essential.
