Human Resources Administrative Assistant (Adhoc)

Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Human Resources Team Lead, the Administrative Assistant provides
recruitment assistance and general administrative support to the Human Resources Department team. This
position communicates with various internal and external customers such as managers, superintendents,
supervisors, employees, candidates, government agencies, the public and 3rd party service providers.
Confidentiality is mandatory in this position and the successful incumbent must possess the ability to deal with
a variety of people in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Assists with the internal and external recruitment processes, including the annual maintenance turnaround;
• Assists with employee and community engagement activities;
• Assists with the preparation of onboarding packages and conduct new employee company orientation sessions;
• Assists with the coordination and administration of training courses as required, including registrations,
organizing facilities, and maintaining certification records;
• Records employee information in the HRIS system;
• Provides coverage for departmental administrative and recruitment roles, as required;
• Assist with projects and tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • The incumbent will possess a Grade 12 education with successful completion of an appropriate postsecondary
    business and or administrative program. Previous experience in a similar position will be
    considered.
  •  The successful applicant is required to be a self-starter with excellent organizations, interpersonal and
    time management skills;
  • Possess the ability to work with interruptions and reprioritize workload with changing priorities as
    required;
  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs;
  • Confidentiality is mandatory in this position.
